HISTOLOGICAL FINDINGS OF ENDOMETRIUM IN MENSTRUAL CYCLE AND DYSFUNCTIONAL UTERINE BLEEDING

Abstract

|
|
The histological characteristics of the endometrium in normal menstrual cycles and in dysfunctional uterine bleeding were described and a brief literature review was made.
Seventy cases of endometrium in dysfunctional uterine bleeding were analyzed and the analysis revealed proliferative phase in 21 cases, secretory phase in 18 cases, hyperplasia in 25 cases, atrophy in 4 cases and irregular shedding in 1 case.
Special emphasis was made on the relatively high frequency of ovulatory bleeding.
